The band was never able to the group to be a major hit in America however, they enjoyed a great deal of popularity across other nations, including Japan. After the band split at the end of 1979 Ford began a successful solo career in metal. She took vocal lessons she released her first solo album , 'Out for Blood'. The album was then 'Dancin' On the Edge'. Ford's albums were not very well-received, and so she went under the radar for a few years. The smash-hit album Lita which came out in 1989, served as the trigger for her return. Both the song "Kiss Me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. Unfortunately, the success in her professional career was not long-lasting as for a number of years she was absent from the entertainment industry. In 1995, she released 'Black and a few years following, "Wicked wonderland", she re-emerged. in 2016, the latest album, 'Time Capsule, it was made available. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
