Tito Ortiz was born in Huntington Beach, California on 23 January 1975. His birth name was Jacob Christopher Ortiz. He was born in Huntington Beach and moved to Santa Ana, California. Ortiz is of half Mexican descendant from his paternal line, is half Mexican. His father was Sam Ortiz and he gave him the nickname Tito. Both his parents were addicts to heroin, which made it difficult for him to become a teenager. He was also in gangs. He also used drugs , such as cocaine. When he was a kid, he was sent to the juvenile halls. His parents divorced when he reached 13 years old. He attended Huntington Beach High School and wrestled. When he was 18 years old, his mother removed him from school. Paul Herrera encouraged Ortiz to keep wrestling and to attend college. He was later married for five years to Kristin his first wife.
